EVERYDAY MAKEUP

I have been thinking a lot about my signature look. Do I have one? Do I want one? Do I have one and not know it?

Whenever I am bored, procrastinating, or inspired by someones look, I try to recreate it. But seeing as I'm not the best at applying eye make up, it never seems to work out. But nevertheless... I tried. And that's all that matters.

I'd love to be the women who is able to create the perfect cat eye ever morning. Besides, who wants to stand in front of the mirror for an hour yelling at themselves for trying to do a cat eye anyway? I don't. And I always regret it when I do. The first eye always works out great. It's exactly what I want. But it's the second eye that gets me (and hopefully you, please tell me i'm not alone in this). The second eye never works out because we over think it. We say to ourselves, okay, i've done it perfectly once so how hard can it be to do it again.

Unlike my several attempts to create the classic cat eye, I want make up to be simple and easy. I have always gravitated toward the more minimal looks, looks that are fresh and clean. I want my future partner to be able to recognize me when I don't have make up on.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The products featured above are what I wear on a typical day, if I do decide to wear make that day.

I always make a point to moisturize before applying any make up. I have been using either:
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30
Glossier's Priming Moisturizer

Next, If i'm feeling a little fancy i'll put on (2) Glossier's Perfecting Skin Tint in Medium
Then, (4) NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Honey.
- I'll put this under my eyes and around my nose.

I'll then move on to my brows. I'll fill them in with (8) Topshop's Brow Pencil in Vicious Circle (Blonde).

I will then line my upper lash line with either (6) Sephora's brown eye liner in matte deep chocolate or use Trish McEvoy's Eye Definer in either Paris Nights (a brown shade) or black. I never put to much on, only enough to darken the look of my lash line.

Next, i'll (1) curl my lashes then apply some mascara. Clinique mascara is by far my favorite. It is the only mascara i've found that doesn't budge. I use either Lash Doubling Mascara in black/brown or (5) Lash Power Mascara Long lasting formula in black onyx.
- Warning: I have used High Impact in the water proof formula and i wasn't impressed. I irritated by eyes (and I don't have particularly sensitive eyes).

Then, i'll add a little (7) highlight in my tear duct using a white shadow stick. The label has worn off so i'm not sure what it is.

After the eyes are done, i'll use my (9) NARS Blush Bronze Duo in Orgasm. Both bronzer and blush are very wearable.

Last are the lips. I'm a big fan of lip stains, (3) Revlon's Just Bitten Lipstain & Balm in Victorian is my favorite. It's the my-lips-but-better color.

JUNE FAVORITES

1. Lucky Irish Breakfast Tea

This has been my favorite tea for the past two years. No milk or sugar needed!

2. Coconut oil: If someone asked me, I would totally be a coconut oil ambassador. I use this stuff for everything.
- Body moisturizer (Especially after shaving my legs)
- Face moisturizer (Usually at night or at the end of a shower)
- Condition the ends of my hair
- Oil pulling (I've only done this once or twice but it seemed to work)
- Make up remover

3. Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo

For a few years I have been an infrequent hair washer. This shampoo has, by far, done the best job of getting all the gunk out of my hair. It gets rid of the dry shampoo build up in my roots. Let me tell you, by day three, it's not a good feeling. This shampoo is great at getting my hair clean without stripping it. I have pretty oily hair so it may be different for anyone who has naturally dry hair.

4. The Gnarly Whale Beachy Waves: Ocean Water

First of all, this stuff smells amazing! Secondly, it has great ingredients. For me, its important that i know the ingredients in the products i use and that i can pronounce them. It gives great texture and a bit of volume with out making my hair feel gritty.

5. NO. 57 Arquiste for J. Crew Eau de Toilette

This has been my fragrance of choice for the past 2 years. It's a blend of aged whiskey, cinnamon bark, oakwood, cedarwood, labdanum and vanilla bean. I've never been a fan of sweet scents so this is perfect. I have always bought the travel size. I haven't been able to bring myself to buy the full size.

6. Coley by Warby Parker

Okay, this is a two parter. One, is the glasses themselves. They come in a crystal (clear) color or a tortoise color. I have quite a narrow face so it's hard to find glasses that fit my face shape. And second, I love that Warby Parker offers different sized glasses (wide, medium and narrow). I have a narrow face so having a narrow options is fantastic! Way to go WP!!!

7. Shine So Bring by LUSH

This is a hair balm for the ends of your hair. This stuff smells incredible. It also does a good job of moisturizing the ends of your hair but not waying it down. But again, if it doesn't work for you, then at least your hair will smell amazing!

8. My rings

I have worn these consistently for the past 3 or 4 years. They are from Urban Outfitters and Topshop. I have tiny hands so two of them are mid - rings. I love them and will continue to wear them until they fall apart. They are the only jewelry I wear.
