COFFEE SHOP TALES

Hello all,
After an 8 hour Megabus journey I am back in my home-away-from-home, Chicago. As you may know from one of my first posts I go to school (college) here. I absolutely love it.

One of my favorite things to do while in a city, or really anywhere is to spend a day, preferably a Saturday or Sunday in a coffee shop. It is actually what I am doing right now. I love to just relax with a cup of coffee or a pot of tea and chill on my laptop and either work on my blog or look at Tumblr.

I have found that coffee shops almost always have amazing playlists so I always have the Shazam app open. I almost alway temporarily fall in love with the baristas who provide me with tea or coffee, because living in the city they are usually not to bad on the eyes (girls you know what i'm talking about).

Funny story... I am currently at my favorite coffee shop relaxing with my friend and I decide to go up and order some tea. So, the cute barista says, "What can I get you?" I say "Can I have a pot, (pause to think)... of coconut green tea?"  (currently my favorite tea, shit is insane!) He says, "A pot?" "Yes" I said. With a confused look on his face he says again, "A pot?... Oh! a pot of tea! At first I thought you were asking for pot." We both laugh.

From that experience I have learned a valuable lesson today: Whenever ordering a pot of tea make sure you know which tea you want to order before telling the barista because they may think your asking them for pot. :)

LATHER, RINSE, REPEAT

WERKIN

Like a lot of other broke college students I have been working a lot this summer. I work in a financial office scanning documents, its SUPER fun... not. :( The only thing I somewhat enjoy about working in an office is the fact that I get to dress up. To finally wear the blazer in the back of my closet that hardly ever sees the light of day. It's fun to get up in the morning and pick out an outfit.

Since the work I am doing is the equivalent to watching paint dry, I have few things that I do to keep myself motivated. The biggest thing that keeps me going is knowing that I am getting paid to do this. Sometimes I listen to pandora. This definitely helps, but often leads to expressively lip-syncing and running the risk of totally embarrassing myself (thank god my desk is in the corner). I also always have a website or two open.

Most recently I have been addicted to the blog intothegloss.com it is AMAZING! It provides profiles of some of the biggest names in the movie and fashion industry, asking them about their skin and hair care routines including people like Karlie Kloss, Piper Perabo, and Miranda Kerr. Hooked yet?! Miranda Kerr's Top Shelf (what the profiles are called) was the first one I read from the website. I am a huge fan of hers and her skin care line KORA.

The last tip I have is to bring food. This gives you an "excuse" to take a break.

Hope this helps! :D
